MSLs

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a specific role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CRO and other health-care industries. MSLs have advanced scientific training and academic credentials generally consisting of a doctorate degree (Ph.D., PharmD., M.D.) in the life sciences. They concentrate on a specific Therapeutic Area (i.e. Oncology, Cardiology, Hematology, Women’s Health Care, etc.) and disease state. MSLs work throughout a product’s lifecycle, help to ensure that products are utilized safely and effectively, serve as scientific peers and resources within the medical community, and are scientific experts to internal colleagues within their respective companies. The MSL role provides clinical and scientific support to leading physicians, known as Key External Experts (KEEs), and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) at major academic institutions, clinics, and community settings.

Field HEOR

Like MSLs, Field Health Economics & Outcomes Research (FHEOR) team members have advanced scientific training and academic credentials generally consisting of a doctorate degree (Ph.D., PharmD., M.D.) in the life sciences. FHEOR team members provide both clinical and health economic support to payer customers, covering all Therapeutic Areas (i.e. Oncology, Cardiology, Hematology, Women’s Health Care, etc.) and disease states. Interest in the field of Health Economics & Outcomes Research has grown as payers grapple with how to provide the best possible health outcomes at affordable costs. Toward that goal, FHEOR strives to ensure population health and policy decision makers have real world information and clinical insights to allow HCPs access to the products they feel are best for their individual patients.
